Wintertime Engagement Session Lauren and Jose
How did you two meet?
We went to school together, but we didn’t really get to know each other until our 11th grade chemistry class. We bonded over the course of a few science fairs that we participated in, became lab partners, and the rest is history!
How did the proposal go?
Jose proposed at one of our favorite places in New Jersey – Duke Farms. We used to live within walking distance when we first moved to Jersey, and really enjoyed spending time exploring it. Between COVID and moving further up in North Jersey, we haven’t gotten back nearly as much as we’d like. We found some time when we were both off of work for the holidays, and carved out an afternoon to spend there. We had already been walking for a bit when we got to one of the prettiest places on the property – a bridge overlooking a pond. I was looking out over the water, and when I turned around to ask Jose something he was on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so shocked, I screamed but didn’t answer right away…so he had to ask again. Once the shock wore off, I said yes and we got to enjoy the rest of our walk.
Tell me about the details you're most excited about for your upcoming wedding!
After 10 years of dating, we’re excited to officially be husband and wife! But we are also really excited to get our families together to celebrate after what has been a rollercoaster year. We will be having an intimate wedding with just our immediate families, so it will be wonderful to be together and celebrate.
Where are you getting married and where is the reception? Why did you choose these locations?
We’re getting married in our hometown, Lititz, PA. A family friend owns a beautiful historic house and property, and he is graciously allowing us to get married there.
Do you have any tips or advice for other couples about having a wintertime engagement session taken?
Be yourselves! Jose and I kept whispering funny things to each other, which kept a genuine smile on each of our faces and you can really tell.
How was your overall session experience?
We had a great time! We were a little nervous going in – we’ve never had professional photos taken before. But Jerry & Caroline were great and really helped us pose naturally – and made us laugh, which kept us warm!
