We at Bergen County New Jersey wedding photography, David Eric photographers love when the bride and groom do a first look. At a first look they get to share a private moment that they would not get up the aisle. This is a first look at the tides estate in North Haledon New Jersey.
How did you guys first meet? Who, what, when, where, why? Give us the dirty Details.
We first met in high school because of friends, but we officially got to know each other when we both worked for the Mayor’s campaign in Hoboken, NJ, and always remained friends throughout high school, college, and thereafter.
For your wedding you do not want awkward wedding photos or bad wedding photos. Christie and Dan who were married at the tides estate in North Haledon New Jersey, trusted Bergen County New Jersey wedding Photographer David Eric photography to give them the best wedding photos from their wedding day.
When did you both know he was the one? Was there something he did? Etc.
We were nothing more than just friends, but there was always something about him. I didn’t think more into it because we both were in different relationships at the time. I think we both needed to mature and go through life separately to then come together. After college, he looked different and not so boyish anymore. He grew into this man with direction, intelligence (which I’m a sucker for) and charm. He makes me happy and makes me laugh so much even on the worst days, and that’s exactly how I want to spend the rest of my life.
How did he propose? (Did you see it coming? How long was it in the planning? How did you feel? Nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Outdoor wedding ceremonies can offer some great options. Is there anything more crowd-pleasing at a wedding than a dog ring bearer ? After almost 5 years of being together, we knew we both wanted to take the next step. But always said it was cliche to propose on valentines day so I never expected it on that day. Plus the week before, my cousin & a best friend had both gotten engaged on the same day. We had actually both been sick that entire week and took care of ourselves.
It was February 13th, the day before Valentines, and he said we should do something to celebrate and get out of the house, and that he had a few things planned. We took a cab ride to the fancy Ritz-Carlton in front of Central Park. When we arrived, they said the room wasn’t ready and for us to have a cocktail while we waited. As we had drinks, we were enjoying our time, and while we were still a little sick, we’d laugh so hard we’d start coughing at the same time, and then we’d laugh even more. Once the room was ready, they had a guest service take us to our room which I found odd. When he opened the door, there was a hallway into the room with rose petals and classical music playing. As I walked in further, there were petals on the bed in the shape of a heart, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. I thought to myself, this is probably what the hotel does for Valentine’s day and how romantic it was, and while I was still observing everything, Daniel came up behind me, and I saw a red little heart-shaped box in his hand. I couldn’t believe it! I said Daniel are you serious?! I was in disbelief and couldn’t hold back the tears. As he got down on one knee, he said, “I know you’ve been waiting for this forever, but how about spending forever with me.” I then, of course, said yes! We hugged and kissed and gave me his great-grandmother’s ring which we both loved very much but had just passed away. It meant everything to me. We then went to our favorite live band place Cafe Wha and danced to our favorite songs.
