Tell us about the bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.
The bride grew up in Absecon/Galloway, NJ (right outside of AC) and went to Absegami High school (where her father taught film and media production for 40 years). She was very active in the drama club and a huge nerd! She went to Penn State University (main campus) for 4 years and was in Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority and Newman Catholic Club. She also danced in their 46-Hour (no sitting or sleeping) Marathon to raise money for pediatric cancer research. She went to Columbia University in NYC for graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist. She met Scott on Match.com in NYC and moved to Westchester County to be closer to him. She is now a pediatric occupational therapist at The Alcott School working with preschoolers special needs.
Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.
The groom grew up in New Rochelle (where he still lives now) and went to Iona Prep high school. His family has a huge love for the beach, specifically Cape Cod, where they visited as many times a year as they can! They have a beach house up there now and love it! He is a HUGE Michigan University and Green Bay Packer’s Fan (he owns 1 share of the company) and also loves Rugby and Ranger’s Hockey. He played hockey, football, and lacrosse before going to UMass Dartmouth for undergraduate in Accounting. After graduating, he moved home to attend graduate school to get a Masters in Business Administration. He has worked in general accounting and auditing in the past, but currently works for Nathel & Nathel Produce company (based on Hunt’s Point Fruit and Vegetable Market) where he is the head of Human Resources and also does general accounting and payroll.
Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.
We met on Match.com in NYC. Scott was the first person to message Brittany and request more info but Brittany didn’t want to say yes to the first guy who asked her out so she made him wait a few weeks before saying yes. They went on their first date to Blue Smoke BBQ on the lower east side and Brittany was too nervous to eat. He taught her how to use the subway that night (since she had just moved to NYC) and tried to kiss her at Grand Central but was DENIED! The second date he took her to the Bronx Zoo and tried to teach her stick-shift on his car (he was very trusting) and they have been a match ever since (almost 5 years!)
When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?, etc.
For Brittany, it was the way Scott interacted with her family, specifically her brothers and sisters. She has 11 y.o. and 10 y.o brothers, and a 9 y.o. sister who are currently in foster care. He always made an effort to treat them with love and went out of his way to make them feel special and noticed.
Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning? how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)
Scott proposed at Sunset Cove in Tarrytown overlooking the Hudson River. He was planning to park the car and propose when they were walking along the river before entering the restaurant; however, Brittany forgot to tell him that it was Valet parking. So he got flustered as the valet attendant was opening the car door and asked Brittany in the car! haha, Brittany initially forgot to say yes because she was so surprised. He planned for about a month-2 months in advance for the ring to be designed. He seemed nervous and Brittany was very very excited!!!
Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.
Brittany loves Scott’s loyalty to his friends and family.
If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.
Scott has 1,000,000 random pieces of information he will share at various moments. We think he would do well on Jeopardy. Brittany talks a lot in her sleep and wakes Scott up!.
Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?
Brittany’s dad walking her down the aisle. Her mother is not really involved in Brittany’s life and her dad single-handedly raised her and her 24-year-old sister as a single father. His presence alone makes it the most special day (other than obviously the whole becoming man-and-wife thing!) Scott is looking forward to his groomsman cake (sports-themed) and we both find the ceremony very beautiful, which is why he has chosen to have a full, traditional, Catholic Mass.
What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?
Wedding Wands! and things with wax stamps on them.
What inspired your decor or theme?
Our wedding is a Pride and Prejudice inspired. This is Brittany’s most favorite novel and she has incorporated several details of the novel into her decorations (i.e. printed quotes, table names/locations in the book, wax seals, broach on her bouquet)
What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?
Not just to reserve a block of rooms for the night of the wedding but also for the entire weekend (i.e. 1-2 nights before the wedding for out of town guests coming early)
Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you?
Our venue has a vintage feel from the brick, to the cobblestone floors and fireplace in the welcome area. The venue had the affordable pricing we needed and also a big selection of food. Also, we didn’t want to worry about transporting everyone from the hotel to the venue so we just made the hotel and venue the same thing! Also, Jimmy from Catering has been SO ACCOMMODATING!

The Grand Summit Hotel Hosts a Special Day
At this past wedding, the food was delicious, the flowers were inspiring, and the DJ kept the guests entertained for the entire night. It was a classic wedding with all of the traditional wedding activities and traditions. The bride and groom tied the knot in front of friends and family in a beautiful ceremony that symbolized the love that they share.
The Reception
The couple shared their first dance. The speeches contained a good mix of lighthearted fun and touching moments about their connections to the bride and groom and the love that they share.
Dinner was a gourmet delight but the real star of the day was the delicious cake. The baker really outdid themselves by creating a treat that not only looked remarkable but tasted as good as it looked. If you have been to many weddings you probably know that this is not always the case. After dinner was served the real party began as the dance floor was occupied by the guests. The DJ played a great mix of music that was able to satisfy both the young and old. The wedding was a great celebration and Of course, all of these magical moments were expertly recorded with the talents of David Eric Photography.
