Tell us about the bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

I am graphic designer. I grew up in livingston nj, went to CCM and William Patterson University and I am currently trying my hand at freelancing. When Im not doing something artsy, like painting, I can usually be found playing roller derby, with my nose in a book (Kindle) or with a microphone in my hand, singing karaoke somewhere.

Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

I grew up in Lake hopatcong NJ, I went to CCM before I became a union carpenter at John P. Picone Inc in New York and am in my fourth year of carpenter apprenticeship. I spend my free time sailing and playing video games. I enjoy going out with friends and having a good time

Tell lus how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We met on a winter evening at William Patterson University. It was the end of the fall semester of 2007 and it just so happened that Tims best friend went to WP and lived in my building. Mike and Dave (both groomsman) brought Tim to the same party that my roommate brought me to, and I met these three boys who needed a fourth person to play beer pong. The three of them seemed nice enough, and I thought that one in particular was pretty cute (Tim), so I joined forces with Dave against Tim and Mike. After two games (both of which I won) and then some friendly banter over wether or not I won because Tim believed that my banking the pong ball off the wall to score two cups was cheating, and therefore did not count, we all decided to go for a walk to "the cliffs" (a spot near the apartments on campus that has a lovely view of Patterson) because I had never been. On our walk to the cliffs I slipped and almost fell on some ice, after that Tim held my hand the whole way there so I didnt fall and get hurt. And I remember thinking how sweet it was. Long story short, I gave him my phone number and we have been together ever since

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

I hate people and normally get tired of them, but I still want to spend time with Tim after 6 years. And he hasn't tried to kill me yet.

When I am with her things are easier than being without her, life just makes sense.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

It was our 5 year anniversary, and we had plans to have dinner at the Black Forest Inn, up in Sparta. We felt like it was a fitting place to celebrate our 5 years together, because it was the same restaurant we went to for our "one month anniversary" so long ago. So we get to the restaurant, have some wine, order our entres, talk about life, share an appetizer, order more wine, eat our entres .... Its your average anniversary date night and I really dont suspect anything. Now, before leaving for the restaurant, Tim had surprised me with a beautiful snowflake necklace and matching earings from Swarovski. This is important because not only did the server compliment me on how pretty and sparkly my jewelry was, but also because as dinner was winding downand we were holding hands and finishing our wine Tim also mentioned how sparkly I was that night. He then followed this statement by caressing the ring finger on my left hand and casually mentioning that "You're just missing one sparkly thing." I'd like to say I knew what was coming next, but I was in a bit of a food coma from my delicious meal, so I just looked at him blankly for a minute untill he put a box on the table and said "will you marry me?" And being us, I just had to say "You have to get down on one knee! It doesn't count unless you get down on one knee." So he did, and he held out the ring and said "Tanya, will you marry me?" Naturally, I said "Of course I will marry you!" And then he just knelt there staring at me until I mentioned "Now you put the ring on my finger babe."

It was the perfect end to our 5 year anniversary dinner, the perfect way to begin our lives together, and we couldn't be happier!

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

He makes me laugh and keeps my crazy self grounded.

The fact that she is always trying to make me a better person and loves me no matter how stupid I am.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

If i ask him to he makes the bestest monkey face EVER.

I often find myself questioning her logic and the way her brain works.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

NOT HAVING TO PLAN A WEDDING ANYMORE.

What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?

Super hero tshirts under the grooms tuxedos. Simple and Elegant weddings. Nautical themes.

What inspired your decor or theme?

We both love the water and nautical things. He grew up sailing as a member of the lake hopatcong yacht club and I went fishing and on boat rides with my family as a kid and learned to scuba dive at the age of 12. Also, pirates are awesome.

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

How much time and effort it all takes. Particularly when you want to "do-it-yourself"

Why did you pic your Wedding Venue, What attracted you.

The look and feel of the building itself. The atmosphere made us feel at home and we really loved the staff. Our consultant was also very helpful in accommodating our budget and needs.
