Boudoir Wedding Shoots: A Modern Bride's Special Gift to her Hubby

Leave the romance for your wedding day! The newest trend for brides-to-be are sexy boudoir wedding shoots. Give the gift that keeps on giving with a special album for his eyes only. This is about being a confident bride, while feeling sexy and empowered. So what exactly does a boudoir shoot entail?

Setting

The shoot can take place in our studio or any other setting in which the bride feels the most comfortable. We understand the need for an intimate location with this type of photography. We can shoot your boudoir photos anywhere you'd like in Bergen County— the number one goal is always the bride's comfort.

Styling

Although the intent is to feel sexy, a Boudoir shoot is also meant to leave a little to the imagination. It's a classy memento for your significant other that is a separate wedding memory for just the two of you.

Some brides choose an outfit that resembles their dress while others may go for a playful theme—like country western with a hat and boots. The idea is to make it about who you two are as a couple, while also keeping it playful and fun.

Scheduling

The best time to schedule a Boudoir shoot in Bergen County, New Jersey is a few months before the wedding. Not only does it raise the excitement for the wedding night itself, it allows the bride to experiment with hair and makeup looks before the day of the wedding.

Timing

How long the shoot takes generally depends on your location and attire. The more outfits you have, the longer it will run. You should always plan for at least few hours to get the shots you need. After all, this isn't the type of shoot you rush through. Getting comfortable in your own skin can sometimes take time, but once you see your album, we promise you'll be blown away.

Go With a Pro

A professional wedding photographer, like David Eric, will know how to shoot you at just the right angles and the proper lighting to make you feel like the sexy bride you should be. They can direct you on how to pose with positions that make you look your best. Going with a pro also ensures all of your photos are carefully retouched and bound in an album for hubby's safekeeping.

If you have any questions about how we set-up or style a shoot, give us a call today. We'd be happy to answer any questions to put the bride's mind at ease.

Tell us about the bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

Grew up in Staten Island, NY and went to school for associate of applied science degree in nursing at CUNY The College of Staten Island. Currently attending SUNY Empire State College for bachelor of science degree in nursing. Currently employed as a registered nurse at a rehabilitation facility in Staten Island.

Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

Grew up in Staten Island, NY and I am working towards my bachelors in Naval Architecture at Suny Maritime. I currently work for the Hartford insurance company as an outside claims adjuster.

Tell lus how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We met as children at Rob's cousin's 5th graduation party. I (Jen) was in 5th grade, and Rob was in 4th. I thought Rob was annoying! We didn't talk much, but had some mutual friends throughout our school years. After high school, Rob joined the Air Force and left Staten Island for about six years. When he returned home, we reconnected through social media and our first official date was a video game challenge. Over four years later, there is still some debate over who won the challenge. (There is no debate I destroyed Jen in Wii Tennis

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

I knew Rob was the one because of how comfortable and safe he made me feel from the first time we spoke as adults. We were each single parents and bonded over our love for our children.

At first I didn't think it was gonna work out with how shy and quiet Jen was, first time I saw her in years and I kissed her on the cheek to say hello and her response "oh your one of those". I thought ok well this date is gonna end quick, over 4 years later and I am still getting those remarks but she has opened up a little more sometimes I wish I still had the quiet Jen haha

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

I knew something was going on that night. We went out to eat for my birthday and he was acting very strange. Suddenly the man who can never keep his mouth shut was sitting across the table from me in silence. I was so scared of biting into my dessert and choking on a ring. We left the restaurant and drove to the beach. I knew he was going to ask, so I felt nervous for him. When he did finally ask, it was perfect. We both love the beach and the water, and have always liked to spend time together at this spot.

I had no idea what I was doing I wanted to surprise her but I didn't know how to make it not obvious. I was debating having the date and then not doing anything and throw her completely off and then just doing it randomly the next day to surprise her but them I imagined what would happen the night I made her believe I was gonna propose and didn't do anything and I decided I didn't wanna sleep next to her if I did that because I wasn't sure if I was gonna wake up in the morning to propose if I did

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

I love the way he doesn't let things bother him. He's very easygoing.

How smart she is even though she doesn't give herself enough credit for it

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Jen smells everything under the sun and logs it into her memory bank. If it's new she is going to smell it and it's great to watch when she thinks No one is watching while she does it.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Jen: Finally officially becoming a family!

Rob: For the day after when she stops stressing over all the details of it.

What inspired your decor or theme?

Mint green and petal pink were inspired by spring! Spring is a time for new beginnings, and our wedding day is the beginning of our new family.

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

The glass house where we had the ceremony. We love nature, and the glass house has a greenhouse feel to it which is perfect for the spring.

New Jersey Wedding Photographer - The Wedding of Daniela & Marlon September 14, 2012

The day started like any other picture perfect day. Bright blue sunny skies not too hot and definitely not cold. What a perfect day for a wedding. As I arrived to their home, all the girls were buzzing around enjoying some cocktails while Daniela finished her makeup with Ivonne Arroyo. They all looked stunning. The Bridal Gown from Park avenue bridals was gorgeous and very unique. Lots of beautiful details Throughout. The Flowers from Brodericks flower shop were arranged so elegantly. Loved the little details in them. Marlon and the boys were enjoying their own time together with Jerry. The boys looked so put together in their tuxedo's from The Tuxedo Shop @ Group USA .

As they all arrived to the ceremony, everyone was excited for the happy couple. Their ceremony was held at St John the evangelist, Bergenfield . What a pretty church to work in. All the guest could wait to see Daniela to arrive in her Classic Roles Royce from Santos Limo VIP. Afterward we did their formal photos at Danherts Park, Garfield . We all had a good time with the photos. Daniela and Marlon even got into the act. They had the largest balloons I had ever seen brought there to have photos taken with. Too Cute.... Afterward we finish the evening with a reception at the elegant The Royal Manor in Garfield . The room was so elegantly put together and I loved the way the presentation was set up with the place cards and memorial candles all together. What a nice touch. The party was non stop. Everyone was in awe of the whole experience including us. Enjoy.....

New Jersey Wedding Photographer - The Wedding of Katherine and Brent July 27th 2012

I woke up on Friday knowing we had Kat and Brent's wedding to shoot and the first thing I thought was how lucky she was the weather was going to hold out. All week we were looking at the reports and praying that the rain that has been going on all week would hold out for just today and Sunday ( we had another wedding on Sunday too). OMG did our prayers got answered. Not only was there no rain but there wasn't a cloud to be seen in the sky. What a perfect day for a wedding!!!! The day started like clockwork, Both of them decided to get ready at the same hotel, The Crown Plaza, Fairfield, NJ. So of course I went to Kat and Jerry went to Brent.

Jerry felt like he was at a frat house. The boys all getting ready for their big reveal to Brent. Little does he know they had a surprise for him at the reception during their entrance. So they were all goofing around talking about hockey and trying to keep everything hush hush. They all looked so handsome in their suits with matching vests from Men's Warehouse.

The girls were all so elegant. No horseplay here. It was breathtaking walking into the room and seeing kat sitting there by the window just calmly getting her hair and makeup done by Joanna Dziobek and everyone enjoying the music from from the movie Sister Act 2 playing on the TV. I remember her saying that the "Hymn Joyful  Joyful "was her favorite. And the girls were all giggling away and each of them were admiring how their dresses made them look like they are floating. We had known one the bridesmaid from another wedding last year so it was like meeting up with an old friend again. What fun to see familiar faces again while working. When Kat was done dressing and Jerry & I saw her WOW she looked like she just stepped out of a magazine shoot. Her dress from Bridals by Roma was stunning on her. Her mom & dad couldn’t stop crying when they first saw her.

They're ceremony was picture perfect. They chose to have a formal church wedding at Our Lady of good Counsel, Pompton Plains, NJ. What a beautiful service. The Monsignor was a riot. I found out later that he had married her parents and come out of retirement to marry Kat & Brent today. I thought that was so sweet.

The Reception was held at the Tides Estate, North Haldon, NJ. I always love working here. The gardens here were made for photographs. From the gazebos to the brick walkways and the stone patio downstairs with this gorgeous iron gate. Every time I work there we have a good time. Oh bet you were wondering the surprise everyone had for Brent at the reception. The Groomsmen starting the evening with an entrance to die for. They all changed into personalized Hockey jerseys and the bride and groom entered into a barrage of cheers and chants. I thought I was in the middle of the arena again.

What a fun way to end a perfect day. Hope you enjoy the photos.
