Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Oakland New Jersey Pet Portrait Days

Our Bi-annual Pet Portrait Days for the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Shelter is set for May 1st & 2nd 2015

_MG_2754May 1st and 2nd 2015 will be Pet Portrait Days for the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Shelter  Oakland New Jersey.  Will be held at David Eric Photography 100 West Pleasant Ave, Maywood New Jersey. This is the perfect opportunity to help out the animals at the  Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Shelter Oakland New Jersey shelter awaiting their new forever homes. Donate just $25 worth of dog food to the shelter and you and Fido or Mittens can get a beautiful 5×7 portrait at David Eric Photography.

Photography of pets has become more and more popular in recent years as owners view their pets as part of the family and want to have a lasting memory of them and a place on the mantle with the rest of the family. Unfortunately, there is still a great need for Animal Shelters in NJ and it is the public’s help that keeps them going year after year. What better way to help than to donate food and come away with a lasting treasure.

Pets of NJ need your help and you don’t have to have a pet to help out. Anyone is welcome to bring by dog food for the shelter. The (RBARI) Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Shelter is requesting that you bring Mighty Dog, Nutro or Proplan canned ground dog food or Friskies / Fancy Feast canned wet food, but any brand of food will be accepted.

These dogs and cats are looking for a chance to win hearts and find loving homes. If you’re unable to adopt at this time, then donatingforrester_0025 food for Pet Portrait Day is one way you can help in a big way. Remember, you don’t have to have a pet to donate.  Homeless pets of NJ wouldn’t have a fighting chance if it were not for the compassion and help from people like you and volunteers who selflessly do whatever they can to help. Donations such as dog food help to keep these shelters going and gives these lost souls the chance at a new and wonderful life. Every animal at the (RBARI) Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge Shelter in Oakland New Jersey shelter has a story, one of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Their eyes tell a story of pain, loneliness, and a desire to be loved. Your donations can make the difference in their lives, giving them what they need before they finally go to their forever homes.

The pet photography sessions will take place at David Eric Photography at 100 West Pleasant Ave., Maywood, NJ. You can call to set up your appointment at 201-880-5400 and you can visit their website at www.petphotographybydavideric.com. This is a great chance to immortalize your pet while helping a great cause.

Tell us about the bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

Nicole grew up in Wood-Ridge, NJ. She went to Wood-Ridge High School and then Montclair State University where she majored in Fashion. Nicole now works for Saks Fifth Avenue where she is the Northeast regional visual manager.

Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

Vincent grew up in Lyndhurst, NJ. He went to Queen of Peace High School and Montclair State University where he majored in Criminal Justice. Vincent now works for a snack and nut company where he is the Quality Control manager.

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

Nicole and I met ten years ago at our first job, The Lyndhurst Pastry Shop. After being friends for about a year, we cared so much for each other that we knew we had to start dating.

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

We both knew early on that we were meant for each other. If you ask Nicole, she knew before we were even dating that she was going to marry me. For myself, I could tell within the first couple of months just getting to really know Nicole and see what an amazing person she is

Bergen County New Jersey Wedding Photography_045

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

Nicole never saw it coming! I had been planning it for a while and knew exactly how I wanted it to happen. One thing Nicole always told me about when I would propose is to make sure it was not in public or with a lot of people around, so I did what I always do best and completely ignored that. Nicole and I have been going to the Thanksgiving Day Parade every other year, and recently we started bringing my nieces. So two years ago we went with my nieces and nephew and after the parade we walked to a bakery to get cupcakes for the kids. We went to Rockefeller Center so the kids could sit, then I asked my oldest niece to take a picture of Nicole and I and I dropped to my knee to pop the question. Nicole was taken completely by surprise.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

To only write one thing is hard, but I know I love when she smiles/laughs and she loves when I make her smile or laugh.

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

There’s too many.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

We are looking forward to getting to see all of our family and enjoying the day with food, drinks, and laughs

What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?

We are not trendy people.

Bergen County New Jersey Wedding Photography_047

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

We were pretty well prepared, there are a lot of little things you have to get done right before the wedding that are easy to forget.

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

Nicole and I did see pretty much every venue in North Jersey, and we just did not fall in love with any of them. Then someone had mentioned Macaluso’s and after we saw it we knew this was the place. Nicole loved the beautiful interior and exterior and this venue made us feel that it was the right fit for a perfect wedding.

Name Your Own Price

Every woman should show off Her Inner Vixen

with a Boudoir Shoot

dileone_0042

We feel every woman should have an opportunity to show off her unique beauty without any shame. We want to empower you to feel comfortable in your own skin and feel sexy too. All of us want to feel sexy for ourselves and our main squeeze. This is why we do what we do. This is why we love what we do. We want all women to feel that they can be a sexy vixen no matter their age or “ so called imperfections “.

When you come into our studio and we photograph you, it’s part of the experience of being a sexy vixen and feeling good about yourself. We offer a safe space that allows you to be free to do whatever you want to do without any judgments. In fact, just the opposite with many praises. We offer an experience that we have seen be life changing over and over again.

It offers you self confidence, freedom and empowers you to do something daring and good things will come of it. We hear from so many women that they want to do this, but something is stopping them.

So now, we are taking away one reason…

Money.

We are offering 10 spots for boudoir shoots that we call Name your own price shoots.

That’s right!!! Call me crazy. All you have to do is email us what you are looking for in a shoot and what you want to pay, it’s that simple. No reasonable offer will be refused. If we can’t photograph you for what you offer, we will come back with a package that will hopefully work for all of us. (Edit After some consideration all offers should be $450 and above) As a reference, our standard shoots start at $750 for a one hour session, makeup, and 10 images of your choice fully edited. (You can also book standard packages with an album and/ or prints too).

There are a few guidelines to take into consideration:

1. We are starting by offering 10 slots from now until March 30th. If it works out, we may open more up – but we may not so don’t wait.

2. We highly recommend you have your makeup done by our artist. It’s a small added expense that lends itself to huge results.

3. Sessions are done Tuesdays – Saturday starting at 10am with some evenings available.

4. Yes, you can get a few girlfriends together and all come the same day and make a party out of it.

5. What is a reasonable offer? Well, it is one that all of us could be happy with. Please keep in mind we need to cover our expenses at the minimum and since we do pay our bills with our photography, making a little money would be awesome too.

6. We offer products such as albums and prints as well as digital only packages. We accept MasterCard/Visa and cash.

7. We promise you an uplifting experience that you will never forget no matter what you pay.

Our email is degallery@davideric.com . Want a shoot? Send us an email and “Name Your Price”.

Do it for your special someone – Do it for yourself – Just Do It.
Now’s the time!!

Tell us about the bride Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

I was born in Georgetown, Guyana and moved to America when I was 5 years old. My family settled in Flatbush Brooklyn. We moved to Staten Island when I was 13 and lived in Dongan Hills. We moved shortly after to South Beach in Staten Island where I spent most of my adolescent years. I graduated from Egbert JH and Tottenville HS. I obtained an Associates in Applied Science from The College of Staten Island. When my family moved to Florida, I migrated back to Brooklyn. I’ve been living in Bay Ridge for the past 9 years. I have worked in Sales at Cantor Fitzgerald for the last 12 years. Prior to that, I worked at Prudential Securities.

I like to consider myself a hopeless romantic. I always dreamed of finding my Mr. Right and living the fairy tale life. For a while there I was concerned I wouldn’t find him and then Eddie came along. I’m so happy that I found the man that truly completes me. I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with Mr. Edward Jopp!!!

Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

Eddie was born in Guttenberg, NJ. His family moved to Bogota, NJ when he was 5 years old. He resided there for the next 16 years. He attended the Dewey School from 1st grade through 7th grade and graduated from Bogota HS. He obtained a Bachelors of Science from Rutgers University. His family moved to Paramus when he was 21 years old. He lived with his brother in Weehawken for the past 2 years. Eddie started his career in Sales at Brazill Brothers 11 years ago.

I would say Eddie is a hopeless romantic type too. His mom use to tell him he was to picky but he refused to settle and boy am I happy he didn’t!!!

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

Ed and I met on Match. I remember my first message from Eddie, it was right before Christmas 2012. I visit my family for the holidays every year and planned to connect in the new year. Our first date was at Sofia’s Wine Bar in Midtown. I would never forget his face when he first walked through the doors. He was the sweetest, kindest and most down to earth person I met in a long time. I felt comfortable talking to him and getting to know him. After dinner he haled a cab for me and paid for it. I thought that was such a thoughful thing to do. I told him he didn’t have to and he turned and said, “I want to, just see me again”. I had planned to anyway but that was the icing on the cake.

The Grove NJ Cedar Grove new Jersey_029

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

Emily: I knew Eddie was the one after he came away with me and my friends after dating for only 1 month. He was so kind and sweet and down to earth. I enjoyed spending all my time with him.

Eddie: I knew she was the one when I had those moments to take a step back and watch Emily interact with my family, as well as her family. The thoughtfulness and love she projects towards others is a unique and special quality that makes me love her so much.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

We made plans to go to the 81st Annual Rockefeller Tree lighting on December 4th 2013. I thought it would be a cute thing for us to do every year together, a tradition. We planned to have dinner and drinks at a restaurant close by and then walk over to the tree. The night before his sister Catherine called and said that her friend Dorian had two extra VIP tickets for a tree lighting party. There was going to be food and drinks included for the guests so we took the tickets. VIP sounds great to me :) We were super excited because we really wanted to see the actual tree lighting and now we would be front and center.

The morning of the tree lighting, Bob (my boss) says ”I’m making a bet”, as he pulls out a dollar bill. “I’m betting Eddie will propose to you tonight at the tree lighting.” I said absolutely not. He’s probably planning on asking my parents’ permission while we’re in Florida for Christmas. Bob kept insisting it would happen that night. He even drew me a picture of a diamond ring, which I took a picture of and sent to Eddie asking if I was getting this tonight. Totally busting his shoes.

Ed was stuck in traffic in the Lincoln tunnel for a while so I decided to start walking towards the Port Authority to meet up with him. We met up in Times Square and ironically we walked through the Diamond District. As we were walking through I said “honey you never asked me what type of ring I like. Lets look at rings. Look at that one, ohh look at this one”. He was cool as a cucumber considering my talk of a possible proposal.

When we arrived at the party, we were so impressed. The party was hosted at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, had a section for the guests literally right under the tree and a great spread of food with a full open bar. We bumped into Dorian and his family and thanked them for the tickets. We saw a few performers, Goo Goo dolls, Mary J, The Rockettes, Jewel, Leona Lewis and a couple others. We thought the tree lighting was at 8, so when we realized it wasn’t lighting until 9, we decided to go back inside because it was getting cold.

We were truly having such a great time. I remember Eddie saying to me, “you’re so happy”, and I was by just by being there with him, sharing this very special tradition. Moments before 9pm, we tried to go back outside, but security had closed off the area. We secured a table inside directly in front of the tree. It was perfect.

After the tree lit up Eddie & I kissed. The tree was beautiful. We walked over to a couch and sat. Shortly after, Eddie pulled out a dollar and said, “I guess I owe Bob a dollar!” I punched him and said shut up and stop messing with me and ran away. He came up behind me and got down on one knee, pulled out a black velvet ring box and said, “When I first met you, you said you wanted to be treated like a princess, would you let me treat you like a princess for the rest of your life?” When I saw the ring I couldn’t believe it. I kept saying “OMG is this real? What is going on?? Is this real?? You really want to marry me??” I busted out into tears of joy. The ring was gorgeous and sparkled like the Eifel Tower sparkled when lit up. Apparently I took a while to say yes, as per Eddie. Lol I guess I was in such shock and disbelief. I finally said yes and we just hugged each other so tightly and I cried tears of joy.

A girl and her boyfriend came by who saw the whole thing. She started taking pictures of us on my phone. She made Eddie get down on one knee again and we reenacted the whole proposal lol. I’m so glad she did that because now we have memories of our very special amazing engagement. Her boyfriend came back with champagne for us too. It was so nice.

The first people I called were my parents. I then spoke to my sisters and Ed’s mommy Rainey and his sister Natalie. Everyone was so excited for us.

I found out after that Eddie had called to speak to my dad on Monday the 2nd to ask permission. Ed also told me that he actually bought the ring on Saturday November 2nd. I remember he left my apartment early that day and said he was going to his nephew Gio’s soccer game. It started pouring out and I couldn’t get a hold of him. I was nervous so I called and texted his sister Natalie and I couldn’t get a hold of her either. Turns out he was shopping for the ring with Natalie and his mommy.

He originally planned to pop the question in Disney World but fate intervened. I’m so happy the way he ended up proposing. Most magical day of my life!!

I’m still floating on cloud 9 :):):):)

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Emily: I love Eddie’s gentle and kind heart. And I always get lost in his beautiful green eyes.

Eddie: I love how she makes feel :)

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Emily: Eddie loves to sing the theme songs to TV shows, Games of Thrones is his favorite . I think it’s hysterical. He also likes walking around the house acting like Karate Jopp lol

Eddie: Emily gets on me about the quality of my dish washing, Talks loud when I am right there, sings off key but only on the high notes…Emily loves forms and excel sheets. Only uses bounty paper towels because she thinks they are so much better. All reasons I love her so much.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

We both can’t wait to have a room filled with all our family and friends celebrating our union.

What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?

I have always loved indoor / outdoor weddings with lots of outdoor string bulb lighting. Maybe for our 5 wedding anniversary :)

What inspired your decor or theme?

Honestly I found bridesmaid dresses in aubergine that I loved, so I went with that color. We both wanted a modern venue and The Grove certainly fit that bill.

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

I wish I would have taken my time in selecting a wedding dress. The dress I’m wearing is my 3rd pick. Although I absolutely love it, I could have saved a ton of money if I would have simply taken my time.

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

The Grove was the first location we visited and I knew the moment we walked through the doors, I wanted to have our reception there. We knew no other venue would come close to providing us with the excitement we felt as we toured it that day. The venue is exquisite. I’m sure you’ll all agree. We loved the beautiful architecture, high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, palladium windows, gorgeous bridal suite, huge cocktail hour room, luxurious main ballroom, breathtaking staircase and romantic balconies overlooking both ballrooms. Eddie was sold on the ladies bathroom. Lol Yes, he checked it out too. We loved that they only cater one event at a time. We also liked the historical building in the back which makes for a great spot for outdoor pictures.

Robbie grew up in Rivervale, NJ and attended Pascack Valley High School and Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ. He currently works at Salesforce.com in NYC.

We both attended the same high school, but didn’t really cross paths until we ended up in the same Chemistry class during junior year. We were then officially introduced at a party that year, and the rest is history!

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

There wasn’t necessarily a single moment for either of us, but the older we got, the more and more we realized how much we loved being together.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

Robbie proposed on a Sunday morning in November over breakfast. I was definitely surprised, but jokingly asked Robbie earlier in the morning if he was planning to propose because he was so excited/anxious!

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Finally seeing all of the plans come together, and celebrating on the dance floor with family and friends!

What inspired your decor or theme?

The season definitely inspired the flowers – there will be lots of oranges, greens and pinks for Fall.

woodcliff lake Hilton woodcliff lake New Jersey_027

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

How time consuming and stressful it is! There are so many decisions that need to be made, and staying on a timeline is absolutely crucial!

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

One of Robbie’s sisters got married a few years ago at the same venue, and it was absolutely incredible! The food was amazing and the room was gorgeous. The event left such an impression on us that we knew immediately when we got engaged that we would consider the venue, and it ended up working out!

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We met when we were juniors in high school … in gym class!

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

It was like falling asleep. It happened slowly at first and then all at once.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

Matt proposed the day after Valentine’s Day at our friends restaurant, Pearl, in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He waited until it was just us in the restaurant to pop the question – it was a magical night that we’ll always remember! We celebrated with our close friends at Matt’s house afterwards.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

We laugh a lot when we are together and our personalities really compliment one another.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

Sharing our special day with all of our family and friends!

What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?

The first look. We feel it will let us relax before the big ceremony and have a special moment to ourselves.

What inspired your decor or theme?

Our theme is very classic, with a twist of modern. We chose mostly mixes of white, black and gold! We wanted to keep things simple and elegant.

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

The amount of detail and the sheer number of decisions you have to make. You tend to overlook the small things and then they can sneak up on you.

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

We loved the architecture of the building both inside and out. The ballroom has a pretty “grand” feeling to it. Everyone there was very accommodating and that gave us such a good feeling that we knew it was the place for us.

Grew up in Bergen County, New Jersey, graduated from Eastern University in PA, and have worked at the NBA for the past 7 years.

Tell us about the Groom Where you grew up went to school, where you work.

Grew up in Maywood, New Jersey, graduated from Hackensack HS and Lincoln tech, has been a BMW technician for almost ten years.

Tell us how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We were set up on a blind date that took place among a group of friends. My mutual friend invited Justin and his friends to join her and my friends out. After the second group outting, we started to go on dates without them. We met during the month of May in 2006, and bonded over our love of sports and the Jersey shore. That summer we probably spent almost every weekend at the beach together.

seasons Washington township_016

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

Justin knew when we visited Long Beach Island with my family after about three years of being together. He felt part of the family, and at that time, very settled and peaceful in his life after some hardship that preceded that year. I knew on the second group date, when he was patient with one of my more outgoing friend’s. I like a man who’s patient.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

Justin and I have a very interesting engagement story. We knew we wanted to get engaged around the time my sister and her now husband tied the knot. But we decided to wait after their wedding hype had passed. So, it was December 2012 when we went to Cape May New Jersey for a romantic weekend with the intention of finding a ring in an estate jewelry shop. We eneded up finding one, and it would remain in it’s box until the following June, when Justin brought me to the same spot in Long Beach Island where he knew he wanted to be with me forever. He got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It didn’t come as a surprise because he took me to the same hotel we had stayed at when we first started to go down the shore together. Plus, I knew we had a ring picked out. He was nervous, but we both have said that the weekend in Cape May felt more like the weekend we got engaged. In fact, after we picked out a ring that month of December, we went to a local bar and had a glass of wine. We didn’t even realize it was 11:30 in the morning!! The day in June was more of a formality. But it was the same month we decided to share the engagement with our friends and family. So we sort of had a nice secret between us for a few months. That was fun to share.

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

Justin has said he loves that I’m smart and “on top of things”, and my shared love for the ocean.
I love how smart he is too, and how handy he seems to be, he can fix ANYTHING!

If you feel comfortable, share with us something silly or quirky the other person does.

Justin is a baseball fantasy fanatic, and during the season, he is very often preoccupied with his score on a daily basis. He wouldn’t deny that it even affects his mood on any given day, particularly when he is losing.
Justin would say that I jump to conclusions and worry way too much and often. And I come up with ridiculous reasons for things that might not make sense to me, like the worst possible scenario.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

We are both looking forward to celebrating our love. After being together and committed for 7 years, it’s been a long time coming. We can’t wait to be with friends and famliy to just party!

What is your favorite trend for weddings right now?

non-white and non traditional wedding dressings.

What inspired your decor or theme?

favorite colors, and simplicity.

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

how incredibly stressful it actually is. and that it takes it’s toll on both the bride and groom to be. and that it is NEVER too early to get something done for the big day.

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

We had been at Seasons before, and we knew the food was very good. Plus, the way it looks had been renovated since we had been there. We also wanted a place that had an outdoor ceremony option available. And a place we could have the ceremony and reception at the same location. And a place very close to home.

Tell lus how you first met? Who what when where why? Give us the dirty Details.

We were introduced by mutual friends on Memorial Day weekend of 2006 on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights. After crossing paths a few times that summer, we finally had our first kiss on Labor Day weekend of 2006 while on a camping trip with a large group of friends. We have been together ever since.

When did you know he/she was the one? Was there something he/she did?,etc.

Ever since the beginning of our relationship, we loved spending time with each other. As we got older and our love grew stronger over the years, we just knew we didn’t want to live without each other.

Tell us about the proposal. (Did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning?, how did you feel? nervous, excited, freaking out?)

I (Danielle) was waiting for the proposal, but I did not see it coming that day. Tom had been planning the proposal for about 2 months. He tool me to one of our favorite spots, a B&B in the Catskills, The Rosehaven Inn. We hiked up a mountain for about two hours to get to a beautiful scenic view. He then got down on one knee with the ring in his hand. He was nervous, but excited. We both had tears of joy and were so excited to start planning for our big day!

The Tides Estate North Haledon New Jersey_012

Tell us the one thing you love most about each other.

I (Danielle) love Tom’s humor and his ability to always make me smile, even when I’m angry. He is also very loving and giving, and willing to help others when they are in need.

I love Danielle’s beauty and caring nature. She always takes care if me and the people around her, putting everyone else’s needs before her own. I can talk to her about anything and everything, and she is my best friend.

Besides getting married -What is the one thing you are looking forward to on your wedding day?

We are looking forward to celebrating our love with our family and friends. We have such fun and outgoing people in our lives and we cannot wait to have everyone together under one roof to celebrate with us!

What inspired your decor or theme?

We went with simple, classic and elegant…that is just our taste!

The Tides Estate North Haledon New Jersey_013

What is one thing you wish you would have known earlier in regards to planning?

It is very time consuming and stressful! We now understand why so many people have destination weddings instead!

Why did you pick your Wedding Venue, What Attracted you.

We knew the Tides was renovating and we loved the idea of a large cocktail room with plenty of seating. We also loved the idea of high ceilings in the ballroom with a large dance floor and tall windows. We also heard that the food was delicious!
